Launched in November 2005, this $80 million grant program was earmarked for local government to work in partnership with business and the community to address priority urban environmental issues such as urban water management, waste disposal and other problems associated with high-density living.

Through these projects, the Program also aims to improve the capacity of all in the community to work together to protect, restore and enhance the sustainability of our urban environment.

These Urban Sustainability Grants will fund Council-managed local projects such as:
-

NSW Environmental Trust
  • Stormwater harvesting and re-use
  • Waste recycling and avoidance
  • Anti-litter campaigns, and
  • Ecological restoration.

Grant applications for this year have closed with a total of 113 applications being received.
