Safer Solutions for green gardens

A free new publication, Easy Guide to Organic Gardening provides gardeners and their families with advice on how to avoid exposure to harmful chemicals found in synthetic pesticides, fertilisers and herbicides that are used in the garden.

The guide has been published by the Total Environment Centre as part of their Safer Solutions project.

This practical guide to safe gardening describes hazardous garden products and practises – and offers sound advice on safe alternatives, such as creating healthy soil and using wetting agents, certified organic products and biodegradable products.

The 'Easy Guide to Organic Gardening' is available as a free download from the
Safer Solutions website.

'Safer Solutions' has been funded by a $3.5 million grant from the NSW Government's Environmental Trust. This initiative brings together a range of organisations to conduct a collaborative education program that promotes sustainable living in New South Wales.
